Announcing the Hunter Region Branch's first event of 2026 - Tech Talk on Thermal Coal Markets.

Join us for Argus Media's Thermal Coal Market Update, featuring a brief introduction to Argus followed by an overview of global supply dynamics, including exports from key suppliers such as Indonesia and Australia.

The session will also cover demand trends from major importing regions including China, India and Northeast Asia, alongside a forward-looking supply and demand forecast. The update will conclude with an interactive Q&A session, providing an opportunity to ask questions and discuss key market insights.

Open to seasoned industry professionals, students interested learning about the minerals sector and everyone in-between.

What an incredible experience it was for the AusIMM Hunter Student Chapter at the New Leaders Summit and APAC National Mining Games in Perth 2025!

All of us thoroughly enjoyed every moment, from insightful sessions on leadership and innovation to the excitement and teamwork of the Mining Games. The experience provided invaluable opportunities to learn, make long lasting connections, build relationships and even prove ourselves worthy alongside students and professionals from across Australia. The people and the place combined made our experience so enlightening and inspiring providing opportunities and insight of how bright everyone’s futures can be In The field we so dearly seek to share the positive possibilities for the future and converse about how each and every single hand will be a helping step towards net 0 emissions and pollution.
